Temperature Control During Pipeline Intervention

OBJECTIVES

Ensure a safe and compliant working environment by maintaining an ambient temperature below 25°C during insulation removal operations on a superheated water pipe.


CLIENT REQUEST

A power plant needed to perform work on a pipeline carrying water at 300°C. The main challenge was to prevent any overheating in the technical room during insulation removal, in order to ensure personnel safety and the smooth progress of the intervention.


CHALLENGE

  • Extreme temperatures in a confined and poorly insulated space.
  • Intervention without interrupting operations.
  • Need for a rapid, flexible and effective solution to remain below the critical threshold of 25°C.
