Qualification of a steam suction tool
OBJECTIVES
Qualifying a steam suction tool for the nuclear sector by ensuring compliance with the operating conditions defined by the client. Specifically, in terms of flow rate, pressure, and passage speed, thanks to a controlled and regulated steam solution.
CLIENT REQUEST
As part of a project to qualify a steam suction tool for the nuclear sector, the client was looking for an installation that could faithfully reproduce the conditions defined in its specifications.
The main expectations were:
-
- Steam flow rate of 0.250 t/h
- Operating pressure of 8 bar
- Compliance with passage speeds
- Equipment qualification in complete safety
CHALLENGE
Providing steam production capable of maintaining a low flow rate with very precise regulation, while meeting the technical requirements of the nuclear sector as well as the constraints of a site located in a marine environment.
TIBBLOC SOLUTION
Tibbloc installed an electric steam boiler on its site equipped with a pressure reduction system and instantaneous flow control.
The installation also included:
- an electric steam boiler,
- a generator set,
- a 5,000 L fuel tank,
- a control system to limit steam losses
PROFITS
- Qualification compliant with specifications
- Precise flow and pressure regulation
- Minimization of steam losses
- Complete ready-to-use solution
- Testing performed at the Tibbloc facility
- Technical support dedicated to the nuclear sector
