Humidity control optimisation to prevent corrosion

OBJECTIVES

Ensure dry preservation of the 80 t/h boiler and the gas turbine by controlling humidity to prevent corrosion and condensation. This ensures the preservation, longevity and performance of the equipment during storage.

CLIENT REQUEST

Our client wanted to rent dehumidifiers along with accessories to maintain the humidity of their boiler and gas turbine within specific limits for several months. Additionally, it is request aimed to ensure optimal preservation in line with the manufacturer’s recommendations, while avoiding the risk of equipment deterioration.

CHALLENGE

  • Maintain humidity below 50% for the boiler and 30% for the gas turbine, to prevent corrosion and condensation. The equipment will then be protected.
  • Provide a constant supply of dry air throughout the preservation period, while complying with safety standards for this type of equipment.

TIBBLOC SOLUTION

To meet the challenge, we proposed:

    • Rental of 2 5,000 m³/h dehumidifiers with desiccant wheels to remove moisture.
    • Control of heated, dried air and redistribution for optimal conditions.
    • Regular pressure and humidity checks during commissioning.
    • Full management including installation, maintenance, logistics and administrative follow-up to meet the client’s requirements.
